On 28th/Nov,2008, Sensei Arthur Mouras Dojo(Head office dojo of Okikukai Australia)celebrated their 35th anniversary of open dojo.
On that event, We send delegation from Okikukai head office Sensei Tamayose / Vice chairman, Sensei Yonamine / Director, Sensei Oshiro/secretary as well as 9 members from Tokyo branch and Sensei Ishiki / Ryukyu Kobudo.
All members participated Seminer, Dan promotion test, Enbu and Party.

On Nov.1st, Shonan Fujisawa Dojo, Shonan Chigasaki Dojo, Shonan Kamakura Dojo, Tama GYM Dojo held joint Kyu testing at Chigasaki Dojo. Over 40 students tried their testing.

1:Seminar and Party with HQ Executives
On Saturday, 6 September, a seminar was held at Yokokama Tsurumi dojo by the HQ Executives. About 40 people from Tokyo branch dojo participated in this seminar. We spread into groups according to different dan grades and worked on kata and hojyo undo.
After the seminar, we had some fun at the party with the executives. Some members of Okinawan's association in Tsurumi area were also invited and we spent a good time together.
2: The 12th Okikukai Tokyo Metropolitan Area Championships
(general competitions) Report
We held the 12th Okikukai Tokyo Metropolitan Area Championships (general
competitions) on Sunday 7, September at the Kamakura Budokan. About
50 people from several Okikukai Tokyo branch dojos, Tokyo Fukagawa dojo,Uechi-Ryu
Karate-Do shinkoukai, as well as Chito-Ryu Karate -Do Shinagawa branch
competed against each other at the Championships.
Jyun Hayashi from Chisenryu won the free kumite competition for the
dan grade holders. He will be invited to the All Okinawan Championships
2008 held at Okinawa on Sunday, 9 November. We are all looking forward
to seeing his further success on November.
We would like to thank all of the people who had participated in the
Championships. (We are going to upload pictures from the Championships
soon)

On Wednesday, July 23, at the Fujisawa Police Station, we were interviewed about Okinawan Karate by people from Helsinki University as part of their research project on "Social Transition of Japanese Martial Arts." Mr. Mikko Montonen, Mr. Pasi Savoranta, and Mr. Miika Polkki visited Japan in order to work on their postgraduate thesis research. Both Mr. Montonen and Mr. Savoranta have studied Daito-ryu Aiki-jyutsu in Finland and we spent a very meaningful and fruitful time as great International exchange.

The wemen's Karate seminor of Tokyo branch
On 10th and 11th / May, at "Hakone" the most famous sightseeing sopt
close to Tokyo, women members of Okikukai / Tokyo had Karate seminor
about 12 participants including 4 years kid.
They trained morning, eveningand enjoyed party, tennis class, hot spring.
We plan to have such occasion hereafter.

On 29th/Mar at Fujisawa youth center, w e held Kimono dressing class.
This event, we realized the idesa to introduce Japanese traditional ceremony.
On that day, 8 person participated and study about 2 hours of practice of dressing Kimono

On 20th/Mar (spring equinox holiday) Okikukai Tokyo branch did demonstration
of Karate and Kobudoat U.S. Airfoce Yokota A.B. high school gym.
This demonstration is planned to show Japanese traditional arts to the participants of Speech contest which took place at Yokota A.B. by winners of all military base high school in Japan.
From Tokyo branch, 7 members from Yokota dojo, Tama gym dojo and Shonan fujisawa dojo participated and exchange friendship with about 200 audience.
